Joe Mixon likes the idea of Bengals adding Jaelen Strong after Browns cut him

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has never been shy about recruiting players on social media. He went after Gerald McCoy, as an example.

This time, Mixon hit Twitter to throw out an offer at free-agent wideout Jaelen Strong, who was just cut by the Cleveland Browns.

As seen in the exchange above, Mixon used the tried-and-true revenge pitch.

As Jeff Risdon of Browns Wire extensively broke down, Strong missed out on the roster in Cleveland because of his lack of impact on special teams.

Meaning, Strong wouldn’t have much of a chance with the Bengals either. The first four are set (A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, John Ross, Alex Erickson) and Auden Tate has made his case, as has undrafted Damion Willis, who will start in place of Green in Week 1. Cody Core and Josh Malone have capabilities on special teams in some fashion.

This was all in good fun from Mixon, of course. But it likely serves as a good reminder that not every free agent to hit the market soon will be a good fit with the Bengals.

The Bengals are likely going to add some names in the coming weeks. But if they do, weak spots like linebacker are priorities over wideout.
