Joe Mixon day to day, Cordy Glenn still in protocol ahead of Week 2

The Cincinnati Bengals injury report continues to feature both Joe Mixon and Cordy Glenn.

Mixon is still considered day to day after he tweaked an ankle in Seattle, resulting in an MRI on Monday that turned up good news.

But the Bengals and Zac Taylor are taking it slow.

Taylor told the media that “We’ll just see day by day how he feels. The most important thing is that he’s healthy on Sunday, and we will do our best to get him to that point.”

As for Glenn, he self-reported a concussion after a preseason game and has been missing in action since. Taylor still classifies him as day to day.

If Mixon can’t go at home against the San  Francisco 49ers, the offense turns to Giovani Bernard and perhaps the returning Trayveon Williams, who had an injury of his own.

Should Glenn miss another game, he’ll get replaced by Andre Smith. The veteran right tackle struggled in Seattle, understandably, but the line as a whole only committed one penalty and the offense was firing the ball of quickly.

Thursday’s practice will speak volumes about the status of both.
