Joe Marler's foul-mouthed mid-game reaction to one of rugby's most annoying trends

Joe Marler continues to be rugby's gift that keeps on giving.

And on the weekend the former England prop dealt with an infuriating trend, that's crept into the game, in his own inimitable way.

Fans and some referees are becoming frustrated at rucks when the scrum-half drafts players in to extend the mass of bodies before rolling the ball back with his foot and executing a box kick.

The whole process eats well into the 80 minutes even though once a referee calls 'use it', the No.9 is supposed to play the ball within five seconds.

Joe Marler publicly taunts Billy Vunipola after England star comes out in support of shamed Israel Folau

Referee John Lacey in the recent La Rochelle-Bristol game gave the French side a scrum after west country No.9 Andy Uren dithered after being told to 'use it' by the official.

It seems Marler has a different approach and voiced his dissatisfaction in the Harlequins-Exeter Chiefs clash in the Gallagher Premiership.

The 59-times capped loosehead was not impressed with the length of time Exeter's scrum-half Nic White was taking at a ruck and let him know in no uncertain terms.

"You're f**king boring me, hurry up," said the 28-year-old in Quins' 17-15 defeat at Sandy Park.

It was a sentiment echoed across the land, despite the industrial language.
