March 12--The Cubs snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 7-4 victory over the Reds in John Lackey's Cubs spring debut. Miguel Montero's home run was the big blow as the Cubs improved to 2-8 this spring.
At the plate
Dan Vogelbach and Tim Federowicz also homered, and Anthony Rizzo added a pair of doubles. The Cubs, hitting .193 coming in, wound up with nine hits.
On the mound
Lackey gave up a home run in the first and three runs total on five hits in three innings, striking out four.
Victorino watch
Shane Victorino was a late scratch with left calf soreness.
