ST. LOUIS _ Joe Maddon missed a chance to make a cameo appearance in "Curb Your Enthusiasm" last spring, but the Cubs manager was amused to learn he could be portrayed in a movie by one of the Cubs' biggest fans.
That would be actor/comedian Bill Murray, who is in negotiations to play the role of Maddon in a movie version of "Teammate," a book released last spring about David Ross's final year with the Cubs, according to Deadline.
"Are you serious?" Maddon said. "That's awesome. He's much better looking than me. Second, it's very flattering if it's true."
Murray is a longtime Cubs fan who grew up in Wilmette, Ill. He joined in the clubhouse celebration after their victory in the deciding Game 7 of the 2016 World Series.
