Joe Lunardi moves Ohio State basketball up in final preseason NCAA bracket projections

Ohio State Basketball, according to bracket expert Joe Lunardi, is predicted to enter March as a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

But pump the brakes a little. Let’s remember one thing. It is early November.

Ohio State will lose a few critical games along the way, but if all goes as predicted, this highly-talented team will have one of their better seasons in the past half a decade.

The Buckeyes, behind Kaleb Wesson, three four-star recruits, and a ton of returning depth, will have a better roster than last season. In cat, the preseason AP Poll modestly reflected this team’s improvement in skill.

At No. 18, the Buckeyes, had all the teams been counted off by fours, would be a No. 5 seed in the tournament, but Joe Lunardi must have liked what he saw during Ohio State’s dominant exhibition showing, and the de-classified information about it beating Louisville in a preseason scrimmage.

Something triggered him to believe Ohio State will end as a top 12 team in the nation, and we aren’t complaining.

With a few dynamic guards, an experienced big man, and a slew of interchangeable parts, there’s no reason to think this team can’t make a huge leap forward. And it won’t take long to see. Against Cincinnati on Wednesday, we’ll have to see this potential come to life.
