Nottingham Forest star Joe Lolley has sent a message to Reds fans following their defeat to Charlton Athletic.
The Reds were beaten 1-0 at the City Ground on Tuesday night, with Addicks striker Lyle Taylor netting the only goal of the game in the first half.
The defeat leaves Sabri Lamouchi’s side in fifth place in the Sky Bet Championship table, two points adrift of the automatic promotion places.
The gap from the top two could be extended, if Fulham beat Millwall this evening to leapfrog Leeds United in the table.
Lamouchi made five changes from the side that beat Leeds 2-0 last weekend, with Lewis Grabban, Matty Cash, Samba Sow, Yuri Ribeiro and Sammy Ameobi all dropping out.
In came Gaetan Bong for his debut, along with Adama Diakhaby, Tyler Walker, Carl Jenkinson and Ryan Yates.
Not long after the final whistle went on Trentside, Reds forward Lolley took to Twitter to send a six-word message to supporters.
“No excuses, nowhere near good enough,” wrote Lolley.
Forest will now be busy preparing to face league leaders West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns this Saturday, before returning to the City Ground the following week against Queens Park Rangers.
