Joe Lolley prediction made as Nottingham Forest 'target' transfer decision explained

Joe Lolley has been tipped to thrive under new boss Steve Cooper by one of his former Nottingham Forest teammates.

Since picking up the reins at the City Ground, Cooper has encouraged a more attacking approach - one which has seen the Reds net seven goals during his first three games in charge.

That will suit Lolley and plays to his strengths, according to Ben Osborn, who has continued to keep in touch with the winger since he left Forest for Sheffield United in 2019.

Transfer tale

Nottingham Forest-linked striker Yuma Suzuki is said to have “blocked” a number of potential transfer options in the summer.

Reports suggested the Reds had agreed on a fee with Belgian outfit Sint-Truiden as they sought to bolster their forward options, only for a deal to fall through on deadline day.

Play-off push?

Robert Earnshaw has tipped former club Nottingham Forest to mount a play-off push under Steve Cooper.

It is a significant turnaround from their miserable start to the campaign which ended up costing former boss Chris Hughton his job.

Under his charge, Forest were propping up the Championship and had picked up just one point from their opening seven games.

Carvalho debate

This time last year it looked as though Joao Carvalho might well have played his last game for Nottingham Forest.

He joined Almeria on a season-long loan towards the end of September 2020, with the Spanish second division side holding an option to make his move permanent.

Whether he had any kind of future at the City Ground was in serious doubt.

Fast forward 12 months and the same question could be asked now. Does Carvalho still have a part to play for the Reds?
