Joe Lolley pinpoints Nottingham Forest team-mate who is key to boosting home form

Joe Lolley is desperate for Nottingham Forest to replicate their impressive away form at the City Ground, and believes Lewis Grabban can aid a turnaround in form.

Forest have stuttered in front of their home fans of late, and threw away a lead against struggling Middlesbrough to draw 1-1 at the City Ground on Tuesday night, meaning they’ve won just once in their last four.

Contrast that with their away form and the picture is very different - and it is those five wins and draws keeping them fourth in the Championship.

At the City Ground, the Reds are 16th best in the league, compared to third behind Leeds and West Brom when on the road, and that’s something which must be improved on, says Lolley, if the Reds are to keep their play-off hopes on track.

The Reds will have another chance to perform in front of their own fans when Sheffield Wednesday visit on Saturday looking for a fifth win in six on Trentside.

“Last year, we didn’t have the best away form and that is something that we wanted to rectify and so far we have,” Lolley told the Forest programme.

“Our away form has been excellent, it is one of the best in the league, and we have to try and take that into the home games.”

Fashioning good chances has also been a problem for Sabri Lamouchi’s men, especially for leading marksman Lewis Grabban.

Eight of his 10 goals this season have come away from the City Ground, and on Tuesday night the Reds struggled to create anything for the 31-year-old, something Lolley admits must improve.

“That is what he is paid to do and he is a goalscorer and is always a threat.

“He is always going to be in those positions and it is up to us to give him those opportunities to score, knowing that he will take his chances as that is what he does best.”
