Joe Ledley in airport signing tease as former Celtic star delivers transfer flyer

Gone are the days when players would show up out of the blue to sign for a new club.

It's a rare sight in the social media age for a star not to be snapped en route to their new destination and that's after Record Sport have already given you the inside track.

And now players themselves are getting in on the act. Joe Ledley had some fun with his Twitter followers on Monday as he shared a picture of himself eyeing up the departures board at an airport.

The 32-year-old former Celtic star tagged his agency Avid Sports in the post and they shared a similar snap as they get ready to meet the Welshman to secure a potential transfer.

But where is Ledley off to?

A host of Celtic fans in the comments are hoping it could be a return to Parkhead but some hopeful Aberdeen fans are also making a case for their club to be his next move.

The Dons spent a week’s training Ireland and a flight to Dublin was on the board as well as the likes of Bratislava and Vienna. With transfer fanatics loading up Skyscanner to keep a close eye on air traffic control.

Ledley is a free agent after leaving Derby County in the summer.

The combative midfielder left Celtic in 2014 for Crystal Palace and enjoyed a strong spell with the Premier League.

The Scottish champions have been rumoured to be lining up a reunion with Adam Matthews.
