Joe Hart wanted by Celtic as Neil Lennon eyes move for former Manchester City star

Celtic have made a sensational move to land England keeper Joe Hart.

Record Sport understands Parkhead chiefs have already made contact with the former Manchester City shot stopper's camp – who is out of contract at Burnley at the end of the month.

Celtic are still in talks to secure Fraser Forster on a loan deal from Southampton but are not prepared to wait while the Saints stall.

Neil Lennon is keen to explore the option of landing his former Three Lions teammate Hart and talks are already underway.

The 33-year-old has been told he won’t be offered a new deal at Turf Moor after falling behind Nick Pope in the pecking order.

Hart joint the Clarets from Manchester City for £3.5million in 2018 but lost his place last December.

The former England No.1 racked up 75 caps and was part of City’s title winning teams in 2014 and 2016. He had loan spells at West Ham and Torino but is keen to reignite his career and could be sold on a move to Scotland.

Lennon won’t give up on Forster but has made it clear he won’t hang about as a keeper is a top priority with Craig Gordon rejecting a new deal at Parkhead.

Hearts are trying to tempt the 37-year-old into a return to Tynecastle while Derby County are also interested.
