Joe Hart 'set' for Celtic medical as Hoops table three-year deal for Tottenham keeper

Joe Hart will reportedly undergo a medical at Celtic on Tuesday as the Spurs keeper closes in on a £1m transfer to Parkhead.

The Hoops have been on a lookout for a new keeper all summer with neither Vasilis Barkas or Scott Bain doing much to impress Ange Postecoglou.

The former was culpable for Midtjylland's costly equaliser at Celtic Park while Bain hasn't exactly set the heather alight since coming in to replace him.

It's left the Australian boss more determined than ever to land a new stopper and reports emerged last week claiming former England keeper Hart was the man he wanted.

Those reports have moved forward at pace and despite some claims that Ben Foster was being considered as an alternative, it now seems as if Hart is the main target.

And The Mail now say he is set for a medical on Tuesday ahead of a permanent move to Celtic.

It's believed Hart will sign a three-year deal that will keep him at Parkhead beyond his 37th birthday.

This comes after reports claimed Celtic had the chance to sign Hart a year ago before he signed for Tottenham but passed on him in favour of Barkas.

Just a year later they appear close to stumping up a seven-figure sum to lure him north of the border.
