Joe Hart's Celtic agent role in Cameron Carter-Vickers move revealed as defender opens up on whirlwind switch

Cameron Carter-Vickers has opened up on the race against time that saw him clinch a late loan move to Celtic.

The Tottenham centre back thought his chances of a summer move were gone when he was relaxing at his London home late on deadline day.

But a phone call quickly changed things and he had to quickly make his move to the club's training ground to sign the deal that has allowed him to make the move north of the border.

Ange Postecoglou snapped him up in the dying moments of the window after the chance to make the move became available very late in the day.

The USA international will now challenge Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh for the centre back position but it was the man between the sticks who helped convince him to make the move.

Joe Hart was also at Spurs last season and insisted Carter-Vickers had to experience the Celtic Park atmosphere for himself as he urged him to make the move.

Speaking to CelticTV, he said: "It was all fairly quick, yeah, it was quick. I was relaxing at home, not really knowing what was going to happen.

"I got the call and had to rush to Tottenham's training ground to get it all signed off.

"As soon as I heard Celtic it was something I wanted to do. It's a massive club with a massive fanbase.

"And there's obviously European football as well, it should be good."

"I'm here to win. I've come here and I know the expectation is to win every game so that's what I'll try and help the team do.

"I spoke to Joe Hart before I came up and he said the atmosphere's unbelievable.

"He said it's one of the best atmospheres he's ever seen, so I'm definitely looking forward to it."
