Joe Hart questions two of Pep Guardiola Man City decisions vs Real Madrid

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has questioned the team selection decisions made by Pep Guardiola for the Champions League tie at Real Madrid.

City are at the Bernabeu for their last 16 first-leg tie against the Spanish giants and Guardiola has shocked many with his starting line-up.

Both Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling are on the bench for the tie, much to the surprise of fans and pundits.

Hart is on punditry duties for BT Sport and he also shared his surprise at the decisions by Guardiola.

"They are huge decisions. Would we pick that team? Probably not," Hart told BT Sport. "I'd want Aguero and Sterling in my starting eleven.

"It's as simple as that when you want to go and beat one of the best teams in the world."

But Hart did offer a caveat on why Guardiola may have adopted this particular approach.

Hart added: "But there is method to his madness and he trains with the guys every day. I'm sure he feels that this is a team which can set up the tie for the Etihad Stadium. Whether it does or doesn't, we'll see."
