Joe Hart in Celtic debut sweat with Jablonec Europa League 'wildcard' deadline approaching

Joe Hart could make his Celtic debut against Jabolnec this Thursday.

The former Manchester City 'keeper is in Glasgow to seal a £1million switch from Tottenham and is set to undergo his medical this evening.

But the Hoops are in a race against time to get Hart signed and registered in time for the Europa League third qualifying round first leg.

Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the game has already been submitted to UEFA.

But they can still add two “wild card” additions to the A pool ahead of their meeting with the Czechs in two day’s time.

That would enable Hart to replace one of the A list goalkeepers already listed - either Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain or Conor Hazard.

The latter would be the favourite to drop out, although his more experienced teammates haven’t enjoyed a good start to the season.

Barkas flapped at FC Midtjylland’s equaliser in Celtic’s Champions League first leg clash with the Danes and was dropped for the 2-1 second leg defeat.

Bain kept his place for Saturday’s Scottish Premiership opener at Tynecastle, but was hopelessly stranded out of position for John Souttar’s last minute headed winner.

Attempts to bring Hart in have intensified since then but things will have to keep moving if he is to take his place between the sticks in the Czech Republic.
