Joe Hart explains what was going through David De Gea mind for Man City mistake

Joe Hart has explained what would have been going through David De Gea's mind after his error in the Manchester Derby against Man City.

De Gea was at fault as Leroy Sane scored the second goal of the goal as his shot came off the keeper's shin before going into the net.

Hart was part of the Sky Sports coverage for the Old Trafford game and he discussed what happened for the Man United mistake.

He explained: “He should make that save because it’s his style and it’s what he’s worked on. He’s top quality at that. Darmian almost feels confident in his goalkeeper, I think. He’s just mistimed it.

"I would go with my feet there, too. He’s gone to go with the sole of his boot and hit him higher up the leg. His style is to be low. At the moment it’s not going for him. Nine times out of ten he makes that save.

"He’s a top goalkeeper. I’ve never seen a keeper like him. I love watching him, he’s so brave, you can’t knock him. He could pass the ball, make a mistake and concede a goal but he would still be the same goalkeeper making the same decisions."

The former England international was still full of praise for the Spaniard who is yet to sign a new contract at United.

He added: "He’s a human being who cares about his football and playing for Manchester United.

"I’m sure while everyone’s talking about his contract, he just wants to get back to the level and be their best player - saving them at every opportunity.

"Those small fractions are going against him."
