Celtic have been handed a boost in the race to sign Joe Hart with Tottenham reportedly telling the goalkeeper he can leave the club.
Reports emerged on Wednesday that the Parkhead side had revived their interest in the former England goalkeeper, which Record Sport first revealed last summer.
Ange Postecoglou has been desperate for new recruits with Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain giving him a headache between the sticks so far this term.
Now, The Athletic claim that both Celtic and Tottenham have an "expectation" that a deal can be reached over a move for the veteran stopper.
At this stage negotiations are on-going as Celtic look to add strength to the problem position.
The English Premier League side reportedly expect the 34-year-old to leave the club this summer following the arrival of Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta.
They note that new managing director of football Fabio Paratici aims to "thin out" the bloated squad and Hart has been "informed" that he can leave the club.
Hart has struggled to keep a regular first-team spot since falling out of favour at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.
He has spent time at Torino, Burnley and West Ham before moving to the London giants.
The stopper made 10 appearances in all competitions last season, but didn't turn out for Spurs in the Premier League.
