Joe Hart breaks his silence after Instagram gaffe following Tottenham's Dinamo Zagreb defeat

Joe Hart has sent an apology to Tottenham fans following a post on his Instagram account after Thursday night's 3-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.

Heading to Croatia with a 2-0 advantage following the first leg result at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs crashed out of the competition as Mislav Orsic's hat-trick completed a stunning turnaround.

Following the defeat against Dinamo Zagreb, a number of supporters had noticed that the goalkeeper had posted the message "job done" with a tick emoji on Instagram, before it was swiftly deleted.

Clearly unhappy about the message given the manner of the defeat, Hart has now taken to his account again to issue an apology on behalf of his social media team in a short video.

"Morning guys, I feel like I need to come on and make an apology on behalf of my social media team," he explained.

"It has just been brought to my attention, I've literally just woke up, that someone thought that we'd won 3-0 last night.

"As sloppy as it sounds, it's the truth. Posted 'job done'.

"That's unacceptable and I'm sure it's annoyed a lot of people and I'm sorry it's come to that.

"It's obviously not come from me and I've got nothing but love for the club and support for the team.

"I'm just as down as the boys are, so apologies.

"Unfortunately its happened but just know it didn't come from any other place other than a typo.

"Have a great day."

Speaking to the media after the game, fellow goalkeeper Hugo Lloris hit out at the team and labelled their performance a "disgrace" as they exited the competition despite having a two-goal cushion.

"Good question… I think we are all more than disappointed," he told BT Sport. "It is just a disgrace. I just hope everyone in the changing room feels responsible for this situation because it's a disgrace.

"Now what can I say more, talking after the game on Sunday I don't think it's the right moment. The taste of the defeat tonight is just more than painful and we are all responsible for that."
