Joe Hart and his Celtic 'dunt' for Carl Starfelt eagled eyed fans picked up on

Celtic goalie Joe Hart was spotted aiming a crafty kick at his team-mate Carl Starfelt last night moments before the Swedish centre-back was sent off during Wednesday's vital win against Ross County.

The Hoops sealed a dramatic 2-1 victory at the Global Energy Stadium, with Anthony Ralston powering home a 96th-minute header to seal all three points - despite Starfelt's dismissal with 11 minutes to go.

The centre-back was given his marching orders by referee Alan Muir following two yellow cards in quick succession, the first of which he was shown for dissent following a challenge by County's Jordan White.

Starfelt angrily remonstrated with Muir and insisted he'd been elbowed by White, only for his protests to fall on deaf ears.

Hart can be seen warning Starfelt during the heated discussion, with cameras capturing the former England No1 aiming a soft warning kick at his team-mate while he medical received treatment on the pitch.

As it turned out, Hart's fears were well founded, with Starfelt sent for an early bath just a few moments later following a clumsy challenge on Regan Charles-Cook.

Hart has been trending on Twitter across Scotland this afternoon following his actions, with dozens of Celtic supporters praising the 34-year-old for his leadership skills, with many mildly amused by his methods.

One fan commented on social media, saying: "Watch the video of Joe Hart and Starfelt. Big Joe boots him in the side after telling him to calm down."

While another added: "It may get overlooked given everything that happened after - but Joe Hart telling Starfelt to shut up so he (ironically) didn't get himself sent off last night was superb.

"He may not be the captain, but there is no doubt that Joe Hart is a leader in that dressing room."
