Joe Flacco trade from Ravens to Broncos becomes official

The Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos had already previously agreed to trade quarterback Joe Flacco in return for a fourth-round selection. However, the deal couldn’t go through until the start of 2019 league year due to rules in the CBA.

While fans in Baltimore have already moved on after having time to digest the deal, it’s a little different to see it actually go through. As of Wednesday afternoon when free agency and the new league year officially began, the Ravens and Broncos were able to make the deal a reality.

With Flacco now actually off the roster, Baltimore gains an estimated $10 million back on their 2019 NFL salary cap.

Flacco will get a second-consecutive season playing in the Hall of Fame Game. Denver is set to take on the Atlanta Falcons for what is essentially a fifth preseason game. Flacco didn’t play any snaps in the game last season but will likely get a chance to see the field with his new team.
