Joe Flacco says Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay has energy like his kids

There’s a reason why Phillip Lindsay was given the nickname “Tasmanian Devil” in college. The Broncos’ running back has a no-quit attitude and relentless energy. He has so much energy that he reminds Denver quarterback Joe Flacco of his young children.

“Phillip, he’s like one of my kids,” Flacco said after practice Thursday. “I don’t know where he gets all the energy, but he has it 24/7. I think in individual [period] I turned around to hand him off on one of the wide zone plays and I barely got to him.

“All the other guys, they track a little bit different, but he’s a little amped up for getting out here I think the first time. Overall, it’s just his personality. He’s a lot of fun to be around because of that. He keeps a lot of energy around and keeps it young, keeps me young and everybody going.”

It’s worth noting that Lindsay recently returned from a wrist injury that prematurely ended his 2018 season and he still turned heads at the start of Broncos training camp.

Lindsay’s never-ending energy helped him rush for over 1,000 yards last season and score 10 touchdowns on his way to a Pro Bowl berth. He’ll be aiming for back-to-back All-Star nods this season.
