Joe Exotic's doctors 'believe prostate cancer has spread' as star 'refuses treatment'

Joe Exotic's medical team believe his prostate cancer has spread to his bladder, but the jailed star is refusing treatment, according to reports.

The 59-year-old reality star – who was jailed in 2019 for a string of offences including animal abuse charges and a murder-for-hire plot, as documented in the hit Netflix series – has recently had a lot of blood in his urine and has bled a lot during his cancer treatments, according to a letter obtained by TMZ.

Exotic – whose real name is Joseph Maldonado – has reportedly decided not to have treatment after his urology specialist revealed they believed his cancer has spread to his bladder and wants him to have confirmation tests.

The letter, reported to be written by Exotic, reads: "I want to stay here and just let it take its course.

"The world has to know just how corrupt our justice system is … If I have to be the one to die innocent in here fighting for the truth maybe people around the world will finally speak up for the truth for once."

Tiger King star Exotic, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2021, also revealed he has signed a Do Not Resuscitate Order (DNR) with the Federal Medical Centre, Fort Worth, according to the publication.

The note also references his fiancé Seth Posey.

Joe had been married to 25-year-old Dillon since December 2017 but their divorce is close to being finalised after he was jailed three years ago and the couple became estranged in March 2021.

The former zookeeper is now engaged to former flame Seth, whom he got back together with last June and has now left everything to him in a new will.

In the letter, he said: "I could care less about dying, my birthday is coming up soon and all I want is to see Seth."

Joe went on to reveal he doesn’t want any of his family members to receive anything when he dies, writing: "I'm so tired of everything that's going on there with people trying to exploit me and trying to write off my name and everything else.

"So I have my attorney Autumn Blackledge, she is the executor of the will, and I don't want any of my will or Jeff Lowe, nobody to be able to get anything from me. Trademarks, copyrights, I just gave everything to my fiancé, Seth Posey."

He went on: "He has been there every day for five years. I know everything about Seth, I talk to his mom and I talk to everybody.

"All these people who try to f*** with other people, just give it up because I gave it all away. And if something happens to Seth, it is in the will that it goes to his son."

Mirror Online has approached Joe Exotic's representatives for comment.
