Joe Duffy 'mesmerised' as giant silver ball rolls through Bray during Storm Barra

A giant silver ball was sent careering down the main street of an Irish town as Storm Barra caused serious damage around the country.

Winds of up to 130kp/h have been recorded at some stations with heavy rain causing flash flooding.

Trees have taken down power lines, trampolines are flying about the place and that's not all - a giant Christmas bauble threatened to do even more damage earlier on Tuesday.

A woman caught on camera the moment where the silver ball bounced down the main street in Bray.

The lady, Rachel, explained that she took the video from Starbucks on Main Street at around 8.30am.

She can be heard in the clip saying: "Oh for f**k sake, this is going to cause a crash."

Naturally, the only place to go was to Liveline, with Rachel explaining in further detail what she had seen.

"I was en-route to work and I was in Starbucks in Bray. It was myself and two of the baristas were just looking out the window and commenting on the weather and all of a sudden we saw a bauble. It was up on Bray Main Street. It was attached to a jewellers. And obviously with the wind it just took off."

Host Joe Duffy was in flying form, with a 'bauble fallble' pun and saying he was "mesmerized" by the video.

Rachel continued: "I stopped the video and I followed its little journey down Bray Main Street. It seemed to kind of veer off down to another little business and down a residential road. It got off the road very quickly and didn't cause any crashes thankfully."
