Joe Douglas gets 6-year deal; Full control of personnel as Jets new GM

The New York Jets may have been undecided on who their new general manager would be, but the moment the Houston Texans fired their own GM, the Johnson family figured things out quickly. The Jets moved to sure up their front office, luring Douglas away from the Eagles to become the general manager of the New York Jets.

The Jets announced the move on Friday night, after interviewing Douglas for the position last weekend.

Douglas has been the Eagles player personnel guy since joining the team in 2016 and he has played a huge role in the roster that has been constructed over last three seasons.

According to reports, Douglas got a six-year deal and full control of the personnel.

The Eagles could promote from within, with Andrew Berry, who they hired as Vice President of Football Operations, as a possible replacement.
