Joe Douglas could try to poach from Eagles front office as Jets new GM

Howie Roseman appeared to jokingly make the comments about Joe Douglas becoming a tomb raider, but it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic of the Birds top executive and the new Jets GM plays out now that they are competitors.

During Carson Wentz’ press conference to announce his contract extension, Roseman praised the Eagles depth in the front office and scouting department, then joked that Douglas was out to still all of his top internal candidates.

Weidl is certain to get a shot at being promoted, and he’ll likely be one of the first guys Douglas reaches out to about switching sides. Weidl and Douglas worked together in the Baltimore Ravens front office from 2005 to 2015 and are reportedly close.

Ian Cunningham the Eagles Director Of College Scouting could also be a candidate, as and Douglas have a relationship as well after he spent his first nine years in the NFL with the Ravens, working with Douglas and Weidl both. It appears both men will land promotions, now whether it’s with the Eagles or the Jets is another story.
