Joe Cole makes Tottenham prediction under Jose Mourinho in alarming Mauricio Pochettino claim

Jose Mourinho has had to endure an indifferent start to life at Tottenham and Joe Cole has predicted that to continue for some time.

Mauricio Pochettino left Spurs last November after a torrid start to the season which came on the heels of four top-four finishes in the Premier League and a Champions League final appearance.

But the Argentine had cut an out-of-sorts figure towards the end of his tenure, something which led to chairman Daniel Levy making the reluctant decision to sack the 47-year-old.

Mourinho arrived two months ago and immediately gave Tottenham a spark but that has somewhat faded away as the club came into the clash against Watford this lunchtime on the back of consecutive league defeats.

Former Chelsea star Joe Cole, who played for Mourinho at the Blues, is on punditry duties for the game at Watford and he made a prediction before the contest about Spurs under Mourinho.

"He is searching for his best team and his best balance," Cole to BT Sport.

"I don't think we have really appreciated how bad it was under Mauricio Pochettino in his last few weeks at the club.

"Jose Mourinho has got a really difficult job on his hands.

"I think this is a job where it's going to take him 18 months to find what his best Tottenham team is."
