Joe Burrow tabbed as QB next in line for superstardom

Not everyone thinks the Cincinnati Bengals should regret drafting Joe Burrow over Justin Herbert.

In fact, some would even go so far as to say Burrow has the most upside of any quarterback right now.

Over at Bleacher Report, for example, Kristopher Knox just tabbed Burrow as the one quarterback about to explode into stardom in 2021:

“The good news is that Burrow is expected to be ready by Week 1 and should have a much better supporting cast. The Bengals added veteran Riley Reiff and rookie Jackson Carman to their offensive line and drafted Burrow’s former teammate and receiver Ja’Marr Chase fifth overall.”

Knox also makes sure to point out pre-existing weapons like Joe Mixon, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, which is a big part of the equation.

On paper, the Bengals hope an elite cast of weapons and improved offensive line pairs nicely with the fact Burrow is right on track for a Week 1 return. That, plus Burrow’s play from last year without the benefit of a normal summer or preseason, has his name on the minds of many even outside the Cincinnati area.

And for the Bengals, Burrow reaching a new level of superstardom is secondary — and a nice byproduct — of what they hope is a massive leap in year two.
