Joe Burrow’s first red flag for Bengals fans might be his chili preference

Like any Ohioan, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has an opinion on one of Cincinnati’s longest-running debates: Gold Star Chili vs. Skyline Chili.

And in this debate, Burrow — who played high school football in Athens, Ohio — has made it public years ago he sides with Gold Star Chili.

That chili preference, or at least the dismissal of Skyline, won’t have any impact on the strong likelihood the Cincinnati Bengals use the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft on him.

Burrow, after all, shattered records this year while leading LSU to a national title and earning himself a Heisman Trophy. The perfect storyline that is the Ohio kid coming home to save an embattled franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game since 1991 is a script usually only seen in Hollywood movies.

But there’s the chili snafu. At the least, Skyline supporters could have a long time to sway Burrow’s opinion. But to get a taste of how seriously Cincinnatians take this, peep the replies to Burrow’s chili takes:
