Joe Burrow’s first playoff game will be called by his idol, Drew Brees

In only his second season as a pro (technically shorter than that if we count games missed due to injury), Joe Burrow has led his Cincinnati Bengals to the playoffs.

And now his playoff debut will get called by his idol.

Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, as part of NBC’s broadcast presentation, will be the analyst in the booth for the game.

Not too long ago, Burrow met Brees in person for the first time while his LSU Tigers were practicing before the national championship. What followed was Burrow revealing to Brees that he was his idol, and Brees’ kids getting to meet their favorite collegiate passer.

Fast forward to now, it’ll be Brees in the booth and Burrow on the field as the Las Vegas Raiders visit Paul Brown Stadium next Saturday.
