Joe Burrow reveals advice Peyton Manning gave him

It wasn’t uncommon to see Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow compared to someone like Peyton Manning before the 2020 NFL draft.

In fact, Manning and Tom Brady comparisons went public every now and then after the eventual No. 1 pick had one of the best seasons by a passer ever.

But Burrow will settle for just getting advice from a legend like Manning like he did back in May, as he just explained to reporters, via Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:

“I couldn’t have appreciated that more. I felt like we were in very similar situations coming in and he felt the same. He just gave me a lot of different advice when it came to marketing, how to handle the huddle, how to handle coaches, how assertive to be in your first year and how you build on upon that. It was a great conversation that I was very glad to have.”

Word back in April was that Burrow had actually called Manning.

On the marketing front, Burrow already has some monster endorsements and has a unique plan to spend his rookie contract money.

And when it comes to on the field stuff, there’s always something to learn from a person like Manning. The former Indianapolis Colts star went 3-13 as a rookie but didn’t need long to bounce back.

Burrow’s joining a team that just won two games and needs to tackle one of the most unique offseasons we’ve ever seen. But if he’s got a guy like Manning giving him good advice, it’s hard not to like his chances.
