Joe Burrow officially signs deal with Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow officially put his name on the dotted line with the team Thursday after arriving at Paul Brown Stadium.

Word broke earlier in the week Burrow and the team had agreed to his rookie contract — and that they had done so well before the report but chose to keep it quiet.

Within 15 days of signing, Burrow gets 100 percent of his signing bonus, which comes out to roughly $23.88 million. As always, it’s a standard four-year pact with a fifth-year option, though negotiations for an extension could start well before then if things go well for both parties.

Burrow and the rookies were previously permitted to report to Paul Brown Stadium on July 21 but needed to pass multiple COVID-19 tests before being permitted to do football activities like getting physicals.

Formalities out of the way, Burrow can get to work training with his teammates before pads go on in mid-August.
