Joe Burrow mystified Twitter with another magic escape and throw

Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow has delivered some of the most thrilling extended plays of the college football season, as the LSU star has an incredible ability to keep plays alive with his legs and throw accurately on the move. In the first quarter against Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl, Burrow added another dazzling highlight to his season reel.

On a 3rd-and-2 play from his own 22-yard line, Burrow fled the pocket and ran all the way to the right sideline of the field before launching a ball into the air just before he was hit out of bounds. Most quarterbacks would have simply flipped the ball out of bounds and conceded a punt – but Burrow fired a perfect pass to Terrace Marshall Jr. for a 24-yard gain.

Officials reviewed the play to determine whether Marshall Jr. willingly stepped out of bounds or was forced out, and ruled that he was forced out and returned to the field, which left him as an eligible receiver.

Later in the drive, Burrow hit Justin Jefferson with a 35-yard touchdown pass that put LSU up 21-7.

There’s a reason why Joe Burrow won the Heisman Trophy in a record landslide.
