Joe Burrow leans on Mannings, Kurt Warner for advice as rookie season unfolds

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow spent the months leading up to the NFL draft telling anyone who’d listen he was focused on being the best possible rookie passer, not bumping his draft stock.

And part of that was leaning on the advice of guys like Peyton and Archie Manning.

Now five games into his pro career, Burrow has made it clear he’s leaning on those guys and a Hall of Famer like Kurt Warner for help.

“Those guys want to help and you’d be dumb not to take advantage of those opportunities,” Burrow said of his weekly text conversations with Warner, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.

Burrow had previously revealed the advice Peyton had given him and noted the relationship started long ago during Manning passing academies.

But it’s Archie who might be helping the No. 1 pick the most.

“Archie texts me every week and that means a lot to not only me but my family as well,” Burrow said, per Baby.

While Burrow has all the tools to be a long-term franchise passer for the Bengals, it’s the little things like leaning into all of these resources available to him that will likely keep him on the right path.
