Don’t compare potential future Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to Tom Brady.
One recent notable evaluation compared Burrow to Brady himself, if only in the interests of putting them side by side mechanically speaking.
Burrow himself doesn’t want to hear it.
“Please don’t compare me to the best player of all time. Let me do my own thing. Don’t do that to me. Please,” Burrow said, according to Shea Dixon of 247Sports.
Fair enough — Burrow has already fallen victim to the draft hype cycle as he heads toward being the No. 1 pick. He’s already had to repeatedly put out fires about whether he even wants to play for the Bengals, so answering questions about a comparison to one of the greatest ever probably isn’t something he wants to get into before his rookie year even starts.
