Joe Burrow is the next Tom Brady, according to Rex Ryan

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t a stranger to big-time comparisons. They’ve chased him from his historic run at LSU to the pros, where he just took his team to an AFC North title via a thrilling win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

That means he’s only getting closer to making those comparisons a reality.

Take one from former NFL head coach Rex Ryan, who dropped a Tom Brady comparison on ESPN programming the Monday after the division-clinching win:

“He reminds me of Tom Brady…I’ve went against Tom Brady more than any other coach…that’s who this kid is. This is a higher killer. And when you see him right there, he’s got it all. And when the Bengals came out and I said take him one, even though I like Herbert better, I’ll take him one. Why? He’s a local kid and he’s a leader. This dude right here is going to take your whole football team and say ‘you know what, let’s go.’

“Can they beat anybody? Yeah, because of this guy. This guy is amazing.”

That Burrow can lead the Bengals against anybody and win right now got some solid proof as he outdueled Patrick Mahomes and the AFC’s top seed. He’ll get a chance to prove it given the current third seed and home game in the playoffs.

And the leader part? He showed that plenty with another hilarious cigar locker room celebration.
