On the same day defensive end Trey Hendrickson broke Cincinnati Bengals franchise records, quarterback Joe Burrow did the same.
After recording 299 passing yards and three touchdowns in the first half of Sunday’s 41-21 win over the Baltimore Ravens, Burrow remained in the game in the second half and late into the fourth quarter.
After a deep touchdown to Tyler Boyd that would have put him over the 500-yard mark got called back, Burrow remained in the game and instead hit Joe Mixon with a 52-yard gain to break the franchise record.
Burrow’s final line? A 37-of-46 mark for 525 yards and four touchdowns with a 143.2 rating while averaging 11.4 yards per attempt.
Other history? Burrow’s the third quarterback to throw for at least 525 yards in the Super Bowl era and he has the fourth-highest single-game total in league history.
Along the way, Tee Higgins caught 12 passes for 194 yards and two scores, Ja’Marr Chase had seven for 125 and Tyler Boyd and three for 85 and a score.
Let’s also say Burrow loves playing the Ravens — he threw for 941 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception against Baltimore this year while completing the season sweep with ease.
