Joe Burrow eager to get back throwing with Bengals teammates soon

Rest assured Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is right alongside safety Jessie Bates in eagerly anticipating the team’s upcoming OTAs.

Bates led the charge in rounding up players, leading the team to believe there will be a big turnout next week.

But Burrow was part of that leadership council as well and Bates made it clear the franchise passer wants to get back to slinging it.

“Joe was like, ‘Hey man, I want to throw,'” Bates said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, while outlining his process of reaching out to his teammates about voluntary workouts.

No doubt Burrow wants to get back on the field and put in reps with everyone, including top-five pick Ja’Marr Chase. Last year, he wasn’t able to get with his guys until late July.

Burow is right on track for a Week 1 return, though he’ll avoid contact far into the summer and fall. It’s a safe bet we’ll see plenty of him soon based on the quote from Bates.
