Joe Burrow caps historic season with national title win

Potential first overall pick and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow did the predictable Monday night.

Predictable only for him.

Burrow lifted his LSU Tigers to a national championship with a 42-25 win over Clemson, completing 31 of 49 passes for 463 yards and five touchdowns.

It was that simple, really. Burrow displayed the deep accuracy on varied throws, escapeability, keeping his eyes down the field in a mess and sheer leadership of a No. 1 pick in the process.

The performance wasn’t just another reaffirmation he’s the top pick. Burrow’s season-ending line is a 76.3 completion percentage with 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns against six interceptions.
