Joe Brolly to return to television punditry with eir Sport

Joe Brolly is in talks to return to our TV screens this month as a GAA analyst for eir Sport.

The Derryman was benched for RTE's coverage of the All-Ireland football final replay between Dublin and Kerry in September.

It came after Brolly made controversial comments about referee David Gough bring "clearly influenced by the propaganda coming from Kerry" after the drawn final.

And that appears to be Brolly's last stand with the national broadcaster with the Irish Independent reporting that he will make his eir Sport debut when Dublin and Kerry meet in Croke Park on Saturday, January 25.

Subscription channel eir Sport are to show 10 football and five hurling matches in the National League this year.

Ironically, the Dublin and Kerry match - repeat of last year's All-Ireland final - will also be simulcast on RTE.
