Joe Biden's two dogs were returned to their family home after one of them was involved in a "biting incident" with a member of White House security, it has been claimed.
Two sources claimed to CNN that the German Shepherds were sent back to the home in Delaware in the US after aggressive behaviour involving Major.
Major, who was adopted by the President in November 2018 from an animal shelter, was involved in a "biting incident", one of the sources described.
The condition of the alleged victim has not been reported.
Mirror Online has contacted The White House for comment.
Major is three years old and the older dog, Champ, is said to be 13.
The two dogs like being together, it is understood, and Biden reportedly said he adopted Major as a companion for Champ.
He has previously described the two dogs as 'buddies'.
The dogs moved into the White House in January, within a week after the President's inauguration.
Jill Biden told Kelly Clarkson in an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show last month: "I've been getting obsessed with getting our dogs settled because we have an old dog and we have a very young dog.
"They have to take the elevator, they're not used to that, and they have to go out on the South Lawn with lots of people watching them.
"So that's what I've been obsessed with, getting everybody settled and calm."
A source told CNN that the dogs are in Delaware but said they have previously stayed there with minders when Jill is out of town.
Joe Biden is on a trip to visit military bases in Washington and California.
