Joe Biden returning to Cleveland on Monday for election eve visit to battleground Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Joe Biden is returning to Cleveland the day before Ohio voters go to the polls.

No location has been released, but the former vice president's campaign said he will "address the crises facing the country and winning the battle for the soul of the nation."

The visit apparently will take place during the day. That evening he is scheduled to kick off a canvass in Pennsylvania's Beaver County with union members and labor leaders, attend a drive-in event in Pittsburgh with African American community members, and hold another drive-in rally with wife Jill.

Biden was campaigning in Pennsylvania on Sunday.

He was last in Cleveland on Sept. 29 and 30 for a debate with President Donald Trump and a whistle-stop trip on a chartered Amtrak train through Alliance into Pennsylvlania.

Trump was last in Ohio on Oct. 24 for a rally in Circleville, the same day Biden running mate Sen. Kamala Harris of California held several events in Cleveland.

Biden also held a drive-in rally in Toledo on Oct. 12 and had an event later that day in Cincinnati.

Otherwise, he has not been in the state since March 10, before the Ohio Primary.

The Democrats this year have been heavily courting Ohio's Black voters, who shied away from supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016. The Cleveland area contains Ohio's largest concentration of African Americans.
