Joe Aribo Rangers injury update as Steven Gerrard gives latest on Ibrox selection situation

Rangers will be without midfielder Joe Aribo for Saturday's clash with Hamilton as he continues to struggle with an ankle problem.

The Nigerian international missed the games against Livingston and Kilmarnock, but it was hoped he'd be back to face Accies.

However manager Steven Gerrard has revealed that Aribo is not fit and will miss out on the trip to Lanarkshire.

However, Alfredo Morelos could come back into contention after being dropped for the Killie game.

Gerrard said: "Jermain Defoe and Joe Aribo won't make the Hamilton game. Both should make the next game. Leon Balogun is back available for selection. Allan McGregor has trained all week.

"Alfredo has trained well this week, I'll make a decision on my squad later today. I analyse all the players on a daily basis and I pick based on the players I think will get the right result.

"There were a lot of positives with (Kemar) Roofe and (Cedric) Itten last week and we also hope to have Jermain Defoe back very soon, so I welcome these selection problems."

Morelos was dropped from the squad amid interest from Lille, but could return on Saturday.
