Honest Joe Aribo admits the occasion of Rangers and Celtic impacted on his debut performance in the clash.
The champions are enjoying a season of dominance over their Glasgow rivals and haven't lost on derby day this term.
If they avoid defeat in the final meeting it will be the first time in two decades they have kept an unblemished record against their neighbours.
However, things were very different for the Nigeria cap when he first joined Steven Gerrard 's side as Celtic claimed the title again in the 2019/20 season.
The 24-year-old admits the move to Govan was a huge culture shock having just left Charlton in English League One.
Aribo claims the first game against the Hoops was the biggest reality check - with Rangers losing 2-0 and being hooked after 70 minutes.
He told The Mail on Sunday : "I would say probably the day I signed (was when he realised just how big Rangers are).
'It was a whole different ball game.
"I was staying in a hotel initially and went into town quickly just to get a few bits and people are asking me for pictures, stopping me and I'm just thinking 'wow, this is my first day, I've just signed'. That was overwhelming.

"Another experience was my first Old Firm game, another day that just showed me this is massive. I couldn't hear myself thinking.
"You know when you try to speak to yourself in a game it was so loud. The atmosphere was amazing.
"The occasion actually got the better of me that day and it was so much for me to take in."
Aribo hopes the Premiership title victory is the first of many that he can add to the Ibrox trophy cabinet.
He added: "The title this year is my first one.
"I love this feeling and just want to have it as much as possible in my career."
