Joe Aribo faces Rangers transfer choice as Premier League trio 'eye' move for star in January

Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo is said to be a target for three English Premier League clubs in January as his contract begins to wind down.

The Nigerian international moved to Ibrox for a development fee in 2019, leaving Charlton at the end of his contract.

He's gone on to become a key man for Rangers, scoring 21 times and providing a further 16 assists in his 116 appearances.

Aribo helped his team to the Premiership title last season but, unlike many of his team-mates, has yet to sign a contract extension.

That has potential suitors on high alert with his deal up in the summer of 2023 and the Daily Mail reports that three clubs in England are keen to do a deal.

Crystal Palace, Watford and Brentford are all said to be monitoring Aribo's situation for a possible move in January or in the summer.

Clearly Rangers will be keen to hang on to one of their key players, who at 25 could still see his value rise in the coming years.

In any case sporting director Ross Wilson will want to tie Aribo to a longer deal, with the player entering the final year of his contract over the summer.

That puts the leverage firmly on the side of him and his representatives given he'd be able to negotiate a free transfer 12 months from now.
