Jody Morris's joy and Jorginho songs from Chelsea fans in Norwich City win

Tammy’s celebration

For Tammy Abraham it was a massive moment to get his first goal for Chelsea and he celebrated in some style against Norwich City.

After his opening strike, the 21-year-old ran straight to Frank Lampard on the bench, hugged him and celebrated with him.

The rest of the team then joined on the bench, with former Development Squad coach Joe Edwards also embracing him.

It was obviously such an important moment for the young striker, and something that Lampard appreciated himself.

“I loved that. No [he didn't say anything], but I spoke to him before the game that I felt that today was the day for him,” Lampard said.

“It was a bit of kidology before the game, really, but I do trust in him and I know that as a striker, a young striker, you do need that support and I genuinely mean that.

“I did feel something for him today and it will do wonders for his confidence and I am pleased that he came over. But we are a group, it wasn’t just him who came over, everyone comes over and that is how we need to move forward."

Pedro’s injury

Pedro has been a regular for Lampard this season, and the Spaniard was set to start once again at Carrow Road.

However, the veteran Spaniard was going through his warm ups when he had to pull out of the game through injury.

The winger was shooting when he appeared to injury his right hamstring, something the club later confirmed.

It’s a worry for the Blues as the injuries continue to mount with N’Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger still yet to be fully recovered.

Lampard will be hoping to have him back as soon as possible with a busy schedule after the international break.

Songs for Jorginho

Last season, Jorginho was not the most popular player among some of the Chelsea support during the course of the campaign.

The Italy international became something of a scapegoat when the fans were not happy of the style of play from Maurizio Sarri.

Jorginho was often heckled or booed during the back-end of the season, when things were not going quite so right on the field.

However, the midfielder has started the season well and there has been a different sort of appreciation for him.

Chants of ‘Jorginho’ rang out from the away end at Carrow Road, with the 27-year-old having another influential afternoon.

Lampard is wanting more and more from one of his key players, including being mentors for those around them.

“There are older players who have come from all over the world, Jorginho and Kovacic ran the game in midfield today.

“They then take on different responsibilities and mentor them slightly. So we’ll get that balance."

Jody Morris’s joy

It’s easy to forget that it’s not just Lampard who has come through the Chelsea ranks to be part of the backroom staff.

One of the others who have come through the system, then become an academy coach and then gone on to the first team is Jody Morris.

Morris was an important part of Lampard’s time at Derby County and will be once again if the Blues are going to be a success this season.

At the final whistle, the assistant head coach went up to the away fans with the rest of the team and pumped his fist in their direction.

It obviously showed just how crucial the result was and how much it meant to him as well.
