Jody Morris reacts on Instagram to his yellow card during Chelsea's win over Ajax

Chelsea's 1-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday evening has been hailed in some quarters as Frank Lampard's best result as head coach.

The Blues became the first team to beat Ajax away from home whilst keeping a clean sheet since August 2017 and they did so without influential midfielder N'Golo Kante because of injury.

Michy Batshuayi climbed off the bench to net the winner four minutes from time, while there has been praise for the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Christian Pulisic in the immediate aftermath.

But there was one moment on the touchline which brought about arguably the funniest moment of the game.

And it involved Blues assistant head coach Jody Morris.

During his playing career Morris built up a reputation for never being one to shy away from making his feelings clear and that trait has carried over into his coaching career.

Midway through the first half he overstepped the mark in the eyes of the referee as Ovidiu Hategan came over to the Chelsea bench to book the Blues' assistant.

Taking to social media after the game Morris uploaded his hilarious reaction to the yellow card.

"It's been a while", he wrote on Instagram with the hands over eyes emoji accompanying it.

Speaking of Morris, he's been praised by ex-West Ham United star Trevor Sinclair for his role alongside Lampard this season.

"The job at the time, probably didn’t get the praise it deserved, the job that Jody Morris done with that youth team leading that group of players who are all now 23, 24," Sinclair told talkSPORT.

"These players were academy players, youth team players.

"They’ve gone off and got experience elsewhere, and coming back and working for them two (former) players (Frank Lampard and Jody Morris) that have got so much connection with the football club, I think it’s an absolutely fantastic story."
