Jodie Comer's Villanelle 'to marry Spanish bride' in Killing Eve season 3 twist

Villanelle looks set to get married in the next season of Killing Eve .

The fan-favourite character, played by British actress Jodie Comer , is reportedly going to marry a Spanish bride in the new season despite hopes from fans of a romantic union with MI6 operative Eve Polastri ( Sandra Oh ).

A show insider told The Sun : "The wedding is one of the key scenes in the series.

"Last time out, things ended with the tension between Villanelle and Eve at an all-time high, so fans will be hoping that they get together.

"But unfortunately, it seems that Villanelle and her Spanish bride are very loved-up."

The source also revealed that the scenes for the nuptials have already been shot and include a Spanish band and a cake-cutting scene.

However, an enemy amongst the guests soon prompts Villanelle into a deadly confrontation.

The new episodes look set to continue on from the shocking season 2 finale which saw Eve shot by Villanelle and left for dead in Rome.

Other characters due to return in the new episodes include Villanelle's mentor and enemy Konstantin Vasiliev ( Kim Bodnia ) and pragmatic MI6 big wig Carolyn Martens ( Fiona Shaw ).

Meanwhile, the book series by author Luke Jennings that the show is based on will conclude with the third and final novel , Endgame.

The synopsis reads: " As Villanelle returns to face her childhood demons and the Russian winter, Eve finds herself on the run from The Twelve, who want her dead. As the action moves between London and St Petersburg, and Eve and Villanelle finally admit their mutual erotic obsession, the chess game approaches its lethal, unforgettable conclusion."

Will the show reach a similar conclusion?

Killing Eve season 3 will air on BBC One later this year.
