Jodie Comer has pivotal cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

British actress Jodie Comer has a surprise cameo in the new Star Wars film.

The Emmy Award-winning Liverpudlian actress had not previously been announced as having a role in the film but appears in a pivotal but minor role in a flashback scene in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Jodie Comer rose to fame and international recognition for her now-iconic turn as psychopathic hitwoman Villanelle in the acclaimed BBC drama series Killing Eve , which was recently named the most-viewed programme on BBC iPlayer in 2019.

So, who exactly does the acclaimed actress play?

Comer appears briefly in a flashback scene as Rey's long-lost mother.

Naturally, Jodie Comer fans took to Twitter to reveal their pleasure at her casting.
