A third man has been charged with the murder of teenager Jodie Chesney who was stabbed to death in an East London park.

Svenson Ong-a-Kwie will appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Thursday, Scotland Yard said.

The 18-year-old joins Manuel Petrovic, 20, and a 16-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, who have already been charged with the killing on 1 March.

All three are from Romford.

Petrovic and the boy have previously appeared before magistrates and were remanded in custody to stand trial at the Old Bailey in September.

A-Level student Jodie, 17, was killed while she sat in the park in Harold Hill listening to music with friends.

Her father Peter led tributes, describing his daughter, who was a keen Scout, as a "great girl" and a "proud geek".

Another three people - a 50-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both from Dagenham, and a 17-year-old boy, who were all arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender – have been released under investigation.
