Jodi Jones killer Luke Mitchell jail interview plan as James English seeks meeting

James English has revealed he is in talks to interview notorious killer from inside jail .

The former Glow star has told how he is planning to sit down with the man convicted of savagely murdering 14-year-old Jodi Jones in 2003.

Mitchell, then aged 14, was arrested in 2004 months after his then girlfriend's dismembered body was found in Easthouses, Midlothian.

He was then found guilty of the schoolgirl's slaying in January 2005 despite a lack of DNA evidence and was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years behind bars.

Taking to Facebook, reality star-turned-journalist English said: "I can now confirm that I am in talks to interview convicted killer Luke Mitchell form inside the prison."

English is planning the interview as part of his Anything Goes Show podcasts which examine infamous Scottish murder case.

He previously talked to Mitchell's mother Corrine who is still fighting to clear her son's name 16 years after he was convicted.

English also spoke to polygraph expert Terry Mullins who tested both Corrine and Luke over the horrific crime.

Suspicion fell on Mitchell after he discovered Jodi's body behind a wall in a wooded area during a search.

Her family told how Mitchell and his dog joined their hunt for the missing teen and almost immediately found her mutilated body.

Prosecutors said his knowledge of where to look indicated his guilt during the longest and most expensive single accused trial in Scottish legal history.

However Mitchell said that his pet led him to the spot.

Mitchell has since launched several unsuccessful attempts to appeal his conviction.

It would be English's latest controversial interview having sat down with gangland figure Paul Ferris and Bradley Welsh, who was murdered in April.
